Preliminary Info

We are delighted to welcome Gary Ewins to outline the challenges of and lessons learned from the multi-awards-winning Acklam Road project - a mixed-use residential development for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC).  The project comprises 32 high-quality homes and community spaces, that resolve a variety of complex urban challenges with innovative design solutions on a tight and challenging site beside the Westway.

In the words of one team of judges: “Wow!  This project displayed true and joyful collaboration between client, construction team and both design and delivery architect.  An elegant solution to a difficult site, fully embracing the local community and the client’s aspirational brief - recognising the legacy of Grenfell and the impact on the community.  A clear winner that exemplifies all of the values of the Constructing Excellence Awards.”
