  • Championship Performance at Wimbledon
Delivering a new Indoor Tennis Centre
for the All England Lawn Tennis Club

    Tuesday 9th July 2024, 1800 for 1830 start

  • AluK Design Studio, 5-11 Worship Street, London, EC2A 2BH

Renowned for its immaculate grass courts, the annual Wimbledon Championships is an integral part of the British Summer sporting calendar. Away from the 2 weeks of strawberries and cream, the SW19 site reverts to its more typical life as a Members’ Tennis Club.

Thom and Mat will talk through the new Indoor Tennis Centre for the AELTC, explaining the changing requirements of the facility and some of the complexities of working in arguably the world’s most famous post code.

The project was Highly Commended by the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards - Building Project of the Year, over £10 million.

Our Speakers

Thom Kilvert, Director, Hopkins Architects

Thom led the design and delivery of the Indoor Tennis Centre from the initial competition stage through to delivery on site. During his time at Hopkins he has worked on numerous prestigious projects including the Frick Chemistry Laboratory for Princeton University, Refurbishment of the listed Pottery and Stables Buildings at Holkham Hall, and the London 2012 Lee Valley Velodrome.
