The New Quality Standard for the Built Environment.
Where Did it Come From?
What are the Benefits?
11th July 2023, 6 pm for 6:30 pm start
AluK Design Studio, 5-11 Worship Street, London, EC2A 2BH
The new BS 99001:2022 is a management system standard that expands the requirements of the popularly used ISO 9001. The standard has been developed by key built environment organisations. These have included many major institutions such as RICS and CIOB, clients and several tier one contractors.
BS 99001 has been specifically developed for the built environment to address known areas of concern. These often arise from high profile public failure. Unlike ISO 9001, it uses sector-specific language to define project-related requirements.
Published in July 2022, the new standard provides a management system to implement fundamental sector improvements. These include building safety, sustainability and sourcing requirements.
The standard also caters for the requirements of the Building Safety Act. It features additional requirements for competence, design quality, operational planning and control, inspection and test planning, and more.
What does this mean for you?
Join us on the 11th of July to find out more about quality management in the built environment sector. Find out how the new standard might affect your project and its processes and systems.
