In this presentation Andrew will explore why Modern Slavery is an issue for the construction industry, including the drivers and consequences of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. He will explain Mace's approach to tackling Modern Slavery, including risks relating to labour on site and how Mace are using SEDEX to assess and address risks in the supply chain. Andrew will conclude with some thoughts on next steps and how the industry can work together to eradicate modern slavery from construction.

Andrew Kinsey is an experienced environmental and sustainability professional who has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years. He has acted as an advisor and sustainability manager to deliver a variety of large, complex and high profile projects to exemplar sustainability standards. Most recently, as part of Mace's internal assurance team, he led a comprehensive audit of the implementation of Modern Slavery policies and procedures across the Mace Group. He was named as one the of UK's top 100 Corporate Modern Slavery Influencers in 2018.
